Evans participated in the historic all-female flight demonstration at Super Bowl LVII in 2023, celebrating 50 years of women in naval aviation. Evans is renowned for her exceptional skill and leadership within the Navy. Her participation on this occasion demonstrated her status as a pioneer and role model for future female pilots.
Another Californian, Lieutenant Serena N. Wileman, is a dedicated Navy aviator. She was commissioned in 2018 and joined the 130th Electronic Strike Squadron, also known as the “Zappers,” in 2021. Wileman’s contributions to the squadron’s mission and her dedication to excellence have been widely recognized.
Wilanders and Evans recently returned from an extended deployment in the Middle East, where they performed missions over Yemen and supported operations in the Red Sea.
Their courage and dedication to national security have been demonstrated throughout their service in these challenging environments.
